In collaboration with the international animation market 3D Wire, MECAL is pleased to organize Plançó, a competition open to all students of Catalan universities and cinema schools. These students present a piece made in 2017, which can be a short film, a music video, an ad or a commission film, on the condition that the animation has to be at least the 80% of the piece.
The finalist will have a free pass for the whole festival Mecal 2018 and their works will be screened at the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona. The public will give the “Best Short Film” Award, consisting on an expense-paid trip to the next edition of 3D Wire, a great opportunity since it is the most important market in Spain, then it has a great repercussion at a national and international scale. The event will end with a networking meeting for students and professionals.
