An adventure with hints of fairy tale in which an unnamed protagonist runs away from an evil creature through a lush landscape. Accompanied by animals, our hero must find something similar to a safe place in a beautiful but strange environment. The film dispenses with dialogues in order to create a rich and satisfying world, filled with wonders and horrors in equal shares.

Chou’s life takes a turn when the reign of terror of the Khmer Rouge begins: she is deported along with her family to a labor camp, and separated from her three-year old son. From here on, Chou will have to learn how to survive and to toughen up in the face of brutality without ever losing hope of reunion.

Nicolas Weis is an independent concept artist and visual developer who has work for the big videogames and animation industries for more than 10 years. He worked for Imagi Animation Studies (2008), Dreamworks (2009-2013) and Paramount, in animated films like Astroboy, How to train your dragon, The Croods and the project Sonic Boom for Sega/Big red button.
